The purpose of this project was to foster good practice, raise awareness and capacity building for national experts in risk-informed development and urban resilience in Cape Verde. It was centred on piloting Urban Risk Management (URM) in three municipalities. It had four specific objectives:
(i) identify the physical vulnerability of residential buildings and public facilities and water resources);
(ii) build comprehensive urban risk profiles for disaster risk management;
(iii) revise existing urban development plans and policies, through updated national hazard /risk information mapping and
(iv) develop national capability to conduct detailed urban risk assessments.
