This project aimed to strengthen DRM and EWS in the Pudong Special Economic Zone focusing on the construction of a comprehensive DRM/EWS Monitoring System. This was centered around the “District – Street(Town) – Residence (Village)” operational concept, supported by development and modelling of community risk hazards at grassroots level. This in turn provided a digitized and technically sound context to better safeguard citizens’ lives and property and enhances their sense of safety and comfort. Specific outputs were geared to supporting:
(i) disaster prevention and reduction; and
(ii) decision-making assistance for emergency command, material dispatch, emergency evacuation and reconstruction.
