Our Climate and Disaster Risk Management expert, Dr Jianping Yan has advised this ongoing Technical Assistance (TA) which promotes an integrated framework and solutions for cost-effective DRM, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZAR) and adjoining geographies, including:

(i) resilient city development covering urban planning, construction, and land management, focusing on smart technologies, operations and financing;
(ii) solutions for urban disaster resilience enhancement;
(iii) research on rapid action for flood and typhoon mitigation in Fujian Province; and
(iv) fostering regional collaboration, including the city-to-city partnerships for resilient development, stretching to adjacent disaster prone countries, such as Cambodia, which are supported by the Greater Mekong Subregion Urban Development Strategic Framework (2015–2022) and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) 2030 Strategic Framework.
